Gawker Clips update: Steve Rubel ain't impressed.

Gawker Clips | 02:20 PM
2006_06_clips.jpgAt Gawker, we've been running video clips of all kinds -- from original content, to TV highlights, to findings from video aggregation sites like YouTube -- on all of our titles for a few months now. Today, we're bringing all our video together in one place with the launch of Gawker Clips. The concept: all the latest video clips from all Gawker Media titles in one refreshingly context-free location. It's video that's too short to be boring.

Before enlightenment, wash dishes, stack wood.
After enlightenment, wash dishes, stack wood.

Still in Maine after a week (and gorgeous weekend) here. Accomplishment: cordwood now stacked under the house. (Co-producer credit to special guest star Chris Stewart.)

Star Envy: Time Out New York goes to six. Bizarre. (Also: "that movie"?)

In self-flagellating news, we've had better days.

Valleywag scoops screenshots of Digg v3... and Calacanis' Digg killer. (UPDATE: Which launched.)

Hell yes. (The moment I realized I truly loved David Ortiz: his press interview following 2003 ALDS Game 4. Background: he'd been ice-cold the entire series but with the Sox down 2-1 to Oakland in the series and 4-3 in the game, he doubled over the head of the right fielder in the eighth inning to give the Sox a come-from-behind win. Ortiz to world, after the game: (Ortiz accent, calm as fuck): C'mon, people. Have a little faith.

Consumerist: If you only listen to one thing on the Interweb in the next 365 days, for the love of all that is Holy let it be this audio file of someone trying to cancel their AOL account. It's impossible to explain how great this is.

Moments like this make me wish Slower still had comments.

Ouch. Leitch takes one for the team.

The Stadium, Monday night. Crap game, great seats... and, as always, Mr. David Ortiz.

Per TechCrunch, the line between fiction and reality officially has merged: "Zooomr, the company launched by 17 year old Kristopher Tate (he’s now 18) in March, will be releasing a new beta version 2.0 sometime around the end of June... where they are really pushing the envelope is on photo metadata, particularly geotagging via a mashup with Google maps." Someone, anyone, shoot me in the head.

Dealbreaker: How to smuggle Ken Lay out of the country. Face it, Spiers is still the queen of service journalism.

This blog post is excelsior.
